El día que yo cambié...

Decidí no esperar las oportunidades sino salir a buscarlas. Decidí ver cada problema como la oportunidad de encontrar una solución. Decidí ver cada desierto como la oportunidad de encontrar un oasis. Decidí ver cada noche como un misterio a resolver Y cada día como una nueva oportunidad de ser feliz.

Aquel día comencé a ser fuerte, feliz de verdad, gracioso. Aquel día dejé de temer por cada vez que perdía Y sentí que para vencer no es necesario ganar. 

Ví que dar lo mejor de mí me hacía feliz, así no fuera el primero, así no me coronaran o me aplaudieran.Sentí nuevamente que el único rival soy yo mismo. 

Me dejó de importar quien ganara o perdiera… Ahora me importa simplemente sentirme mejor que ayer. Aprendí que lo difícil no es llegar a la cima, sino jamás dejar de subir. Pero también vi que a veces se cae, y que el único camino es levantarse y seguir. 

Descubrí que el amor es más que un simple estado de enamoramiento, “el amor es una filosofía de vida”. Aquel día dejé de ser un reflejo de mis escasos triunfos pasados y empecé a ser mi propia tenue luz de este presente; aprendí que de nada sirve ser luz si no vas a iluminar el camino de los demás.

Aquel día decidí cambiar tantas cosas… Aquel día aprendí que los sueños son solamente para hacerse realidad.Desde aquel día ya no duermo solo para descansar, ahora también duermo para soñar…

Rafael Reif!

Is a Venezuelan American electrical engineer and academic administrator. He is the provost of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and will be the 17th president of MIT when he succeeds Susan Hockfield in July 2012.

Leo Rafael Reif was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Who immigrated to Venezuela in the 1930s through Ecuador and Colombia. His father was a photographer, and the family spoke Yiddish and Spanish at home.

Reif received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de Carabobo, Valencia, Venezuela in 1973. He then served for a year as an assistant professor at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas.

He came to the United States for graduate school, earning his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1979. 

He then spent a year as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford.

Reif joined the MIT faculty in January 1980 as an assistant professor of electrical engineering. He was promoted to associate professor in 1983, earned tenure in 1985, and became a full professor in 1988.

Before his appointment as Provost in 2005, his research centered on three-dimensional integrated circuit technologies and on environmentally benign microelectronics fabrication.

Reif was director of MIT’s Microsystems Technology Laboratories, then associate department head for Electrical Engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), MIT's largest academic department, and then served as EECS department head in 2004-2005.

I study engineering at URBE . My favorite subjects are geometria and English. This trimester I am taking 4 classes and I am in the 5th trimester.
